Saban talks Mississippi State
Coming into last season, Nick Saban was a perfect 5-0 against Mississippi State but suffered his first defeat 17-12 in Starkville.
And even though he was coaching at LSU at the time, he knows the Alabama offense has not scored a touchdown against the Bulldogs since 2004.
"We haven't beaten these guys for a while," Saban said. "We haven't scored a touchdown on them for a while and certainly didn't play very well against them last year. We certainly have a lot of respect for how they have played against us and how we need to play and improve as a team, so we can play well against them."
With his Tide riding high at 10-0 and No. 1 in the country, Saban still feels the Bulldogs are a dangerous team despite their lackluster 3-6 mark this season.
"Mississippi State is a very good, physical team," Saban said. "They are probably two points away from being the second-place team in our division. They have two one-point losses to some pretty good teams in the SEC. They play tremendous football on defense. They've got a lot of experience. They've got a lot of starters back. They are rated in the Top 20 in the country in lot of those areas."
Saban also praised the MSU coaching staff and head coach Sylvester Croom for the job they have done with their team.
