Goetz commits after reflecting on visit
On Sunday, while waiting in Lubbock International Airport for his flight to begin boarding, Cibolo (TX) Steele offensive lineman Matt Goetz indicated that he would be committing to Texas Tech after spending a day reflecting on his visit.
True to his word, Goetz made the call and pledged to the Red Raiders this afternoon.
"I just committed to Coach [Matt] Moore, he's a great person and a great coach," said the 6-4, 270-pound prospect.
With an offer in hand prior to his visit, Goetz didn't need much convincing during his time on the South Plains.
I didn't necessarily need to be sold on it or anything this weekend, but it was more than I expected," he explained. "The people were great, the town was great and I just got that feeling.
"Coach Moore just seemed like a real great coach, a real nice person and I liked the players there. It all fit."
With slightly more than a week to go before National Signing Day, Goetz indicated that he was completely done with the recruiting process.
"They are coming to see me on Wednesday with all of the paper work and everything, so I'll have that for next week."
Goetz, who participated in the Offense-Defense All-American Bowl earlier this month, also held offers from Buffalo, New Mexico and Texas State.
