Cy Ridge defensive lineman gaining interest
Head football coach Gary Thiebaud is no stranger to college football coaches coming in droves to the football offices at Cypress Ridge High School just outside of Houston. He has recently gone through the recruitment of one of the best talents to come out of the Houston Area in quite some time in 2009 five-star quarterback Russell Shepard. He was joined by four-star running back Hasan Lipscomb as well as linebacker Princeton Jackson and offensive lineman Keenan Flax in becoming the latest group of athletes to make the familiar jump from Cy Ridge to the college ranks.
Thiebaud will not likely see his revolving door slow down anytime soon as colleges have already turned their attention to the 2010 class and the Rams hold an Rivals250 Player to Watch in receiver Kevin Johnson. However, another player is making his name as well in defensive lineman Robert Scarpati. The 6-foot-3, 255-pound defender was one of the group of initial prospects that attended The University of Houston's first Junior Day last month and he has jumped on the opportunity to learn from those that have come before him.
