Pokes Evaluating Ponderosa Product
The Cowboys are evaluating defensive end Riley Lang, a 6-foot-4 and 225 pounder out of Ponderosa High School in Colorado. The Pokes received their first three commitments from D-Line prospects in Sonny Puletasi, Desmond Tautofi, and Ray Stovall, and will review Lang further.
Lang said he's received contact from Wyoming, Kansas State, Colorado, Oklahoma State, and CSU, and would like to visit all schools interest in him to play division one football.
"I could visit Wyoming in April, " he said. "I understand it's a family atmosphere with the program and community. I'm definitely fine with the tight knit footbal team. I'm also looking at camping at Colorado, Kansas State, and CSU. The recruiting is still early and I hope to continue generating support from these schools."
The defensive end prospect looks to be a bit under the radar though schools are in contact with him and reviewing his game film. Lang played in high school with Jon Major, CU's top recruit from last season and has a good relationship with the Buffalo.
"The coaches are working on getting tape out to various schools," he said. "I think as far as Wyoming is concerned is I want to check out the school and attend their camp, and hope their interest continues to pickup."
Lang earned first team all-southern league honors with a 137 tackles and seven quarterback sacks. His strength appears to be as a pass rusher since he has converted to linebacker with a good motor and speed.
The Ponderosa High School product says he has a good motor, strength, and a combination of speed and size which is peaking interest of college football recruiters.
