This is the GatorBait.net Hot 11. Marty Cohen, Thomas Goldkamp, Mike Hodge, Keith Niebuhr and Mark Wheeler have reviewed the first three games of the football season to vote on this edition of the Hot 11. It consists of the 11 most valuable players, in our opinion, to this point in the season. Each member votes on a top 11, then points are
awarded on a sliding scale: 1st place vote = 11 points, 2nd place = 10 points, etc... (Total points and 1st place votes in parenthesis).
Last Week: #1 Season Totals: Leads the team with 24 tackles (16 solo). 2 1/2 TFL. 3 interceptions for 42
yards Comment: Black was only named first on one ballot this week, but he was the only player named in the top two on each ballot.
Last Week: #3 Season Totals: 45-carries for 310 yards and 2 touchdowns rushing. 8 catches for 59 yards.
6 kick returns for 221 yards. 531 yards total offense. Comment: He was held in check for most of the Tennessee game, but still ended up with over 75 yards on the ground.
Last Week: #2 Season Totals: 9 tackles (8 solo). 2 TFL. 1 sack. 2 interceptions for 68 yards and 1 TD. 4
pass break-ups. 1 QBH and 1 sack. Comment: A miscommunication between Jenkins and Will Hill resulted in a long TD pass for the Vols. However, he has still be dominant this season.
Last Week: #4 Season Totals: UF is one of the leading teams in the nation in sacks against - giving up a
total of 2 thus far. Comment: Made the move from the left side back to the right and still graded out as a champion during the win over Tennessee. He has been UF's most consistent lineman this year and the only offensive lineman to have ever received a first place vote in any GBN Hot 11.
Last Week: #9 Season Totals: UF is one of the leading teams in the nation in sacks against - giving up a
total of 2 thus far. Comment: He has had at least one bad snap a game, but has graded out as a offensive champion twice and was the SEC offensive lineman of the week two weeks ago.
Last Week: UR Season Totals: 7 catches for 66 yards (9.4 avg) and 1 touchdown. Comment: He may not have a lot of catches, yards or touchdowns, but Moore has come
up with the big catch when UF has needed it most.
Last Week: #10 Season Totals: Second on the team with 19 tackles (10 solo). 2 interceptions for 1 yard. Comment: After a rocky start to the season he's rebounded to become a key contributor. Second on the team in tackles.
Last Week: #8 Season Totals: UF is one of the leading teams in the nation in sacks against - giving up a
total of 2 thus far. Comment: Back at his more natural position at right guard, Hurt once again graded out as an offensive champion.
Last Week: NR Season Totals: 8 tackles (2 solo). 2 TFL. 2 quarterback hurries and 1 sack. 1 FR. Comment: Who would have thought that Lemmens would be included in the Hot 11 three weeks into the season? He has been relentless in his pursuit of the ball and is being utilized standing up more often.
Last Week: #7 Season Totals: 9 tackles (6 solo). 1/2 TFL and 1/2 sack. 1 interception for 35 return
yards and 1 TD. Comment: He doesn't have a ton of stats, but he's been steady on a line which goes 10 deep.
