Jaxon Hood lost his voice in Chandler (Ariz.) Hamilton's playoff victory over Chandler last Thursday but he still made it to his official visit at Boston College and talked about it Sunday.
The trip went incredibly well for the 6-foot-1, 280-pound defensive tackle, he said he was especially impressed with the coaching staff - coach Frank Spaziani in particular - and the Eagles have moved into his top three.
"It was great," Hood said.
"It was my first time in Boston and they took me around campus and I hung around with the players and I had a great meeting with the head coach and I had a great dinner with the head coach.
"It was their last home game and I really liked their facilities and the way they conduct themselves."
Hood, who also has Washington State and Fresno State in his top group, said his meetings with Spaziani went well and he especially liked the message Boston College's head coach delivered to him.
"He was saying that they know they're different and that's what makes them better," Hood said. "He said the talent is there and that they will continue to get better. I'm strongly considering them right now. They're in my top three."
Before Hood makes any decisions, though, he's planning to visit Washington State and Fresno State in early December. A trip to Washington sometime soon could also happen and Hood is hoping the Huskies offer.
In recent weeks, Hood said Washington was one of his favorites, especially if it offered, and he's hoping that's the case when he visits.
"It's just a waiting game right now," Hood said. "We planned an official so that's good."
Hood said Boston College offered during his weekend visit. The Chandler Hamilton standout also lists offers from Air Force, Fresno State, Northern Arizona, San Diego, South Dakota State and Washington State.
