Junior running back Mack Brown leaned toward a Jeff Driskel return to practice Thursday afternoon when he told reporters, "The offense runs through Jeff, so it's good to have him back."
He was speaking the truth, maybe accidentally.
Thursday night, Florida's starting quarterback returned to the practice fields albeit in a traditional quarterback non-contact jersey, shorts and no pads. Florida confirmed the news with pictures of Driskel practicing on its Instagram and Twitter accounts.
It was Driskel's first action in practice since undergoing appendectomy surgery on July 31.
Florida coach Will Muschamp will meet with reporters Friday to address Driskel's return to practice, as well as freshman linebacker Matt Rolin's ACL injury and sophomore linebacker Antonio Morrison's return to the football facility.
