The Skinny: The Sooners center commitment missed what would have been a big head-to-head battle with next weekend's Sooner official visitor Zaycoven Henderson, and his teammates came up short of Longview 49-30.
The Skinny: Andrews, after spending a few weeks making a big impact on defense, got back to his dominant ways on the offensive side of the ball. On the night he had 11-catches for 197-yards and four touchdowns not to mention the game-winning touchdown and two point conversion in the game's final moments as the Wolves downed Skyline 50-49. WEEK 8 MVP
Next Week: Desert Mountain (4-4) is traveling to Mesa Desert Ridge.
CURTIS BOLTON 6-foot-2, 215-pounds Murrieta (Calif.) Vista Murrieta Primary Recruiter: Tim Kish California ranking: No. 67
The Skinny: Evans' touchdown streak was broken but he did manage a couple of tackles for loss against a Plano West that largely ran away from him in roughly a quarter and a half of action as Allen downed West 77-37.
The Skinny: Hansen suffered a game-ending injury on Santa Fe's first drive of the game and was later seen on crutches. Though young Keaton Torre did an admirable job filling in, he was no match for Lawton's powerful ground game led by Jalin Barnett and Michael Warren.
The Skinny: As we enter the home stretch of the regular season Mead seems to be hitting his stride. On Thursday night against Sand Springs he had six catches for 154-yards and two touchdowns (44, 22) in Union's 63-6 demolition of the Sandites.
Next Week: Union (5-2) is hosting Bartlesville.
CARSON MEIER 6-7, 220-pounds Tulsa (Okla.) Union Primary Recruiter: Jay Boulware Oklahoma ranking: No. 10
The Skinny: Todd and La Mirada threw the ball very little during their team's heartbreaking 28-21 loss to Mayfair. The Matadores were up 21-10 with just a few minutes to go before Mayfair scored three straight times for the win. Todd had no stats available.
Next Week: La Mirada (2-5) is hosting Cerritos on Thurs., Oct. 24.
