One of the more confusing recruiting sagas of the year was turned in by four-star defensive tackle Travonte Valentine of Hialeah (Fla.) Champagnat Catholic. After being committed to Louisville, Florida and Miami at different times, Valentine finished off his process by committing to the LSU Tigers.
Valentine, a 6-foot-3, 286-pound defensive tackle is the No. 59 overall player in the country and the No. 3 player nationally at his position. He chose the Tigers over Miami and Texas.
Valentine took an official visit to LSU on Jan. 24, after visiting Miami and Texas earlier in January. He proved himself as one of the top defensive tackles in the nation at the U.S. Army All-America Game, where he dominated the opposition. Joining five-star running back Leonard Fournette, Valentine is the 14th four-star prospect to commit to LSU.
