The biggest news for Oregon didn't come from the long list of visitors in Eugene this weekend. Bryce Brown, the nation's top-ranked running back, is committed to Miami and took an unofficial visit to Kansas State this weekend, but stated in an interview that Oregon sits at the top of his list.

UCLA got a big commitment back from Notre Dame and picked up a couple more pledges while Clemson, N.C. State and Pitt all added names to their commit lists.

As first reported by TigerIllustrated.com, Charlotte (N.C.) South Mecklenburg defensive end/ linebacker Spencer Shuey has made a verbal commitment to the Clemson Tigers. The 6-foot-4, 240-pounder took an official visit to Clemson this weekend, and pledged to the Tigers on Sunday.

One of the hottest recruits in the country right now is Valdosta (Ga.) Lowndes defensive back Greg Reid. After decommitting from Florida and earning MVP honors in the Under Armour all-star game, the speedy athlete has become a hot recruiting target.
