Wilson is a Hot Commodity

The state of Texas has been prime ground for recruiting some the nations top high school football prospects and the class of 2013 will prove to be no different. One prospect out of Texas that continues to get plenty of attention is Desoto (TX) running back Dontre Wilson.

Wilson recently cracked the latest Rivals 250 release and is ranked No. 186 in the entire nation for the 2013 recruiting class. He's getting lots of attention from just about every school you could name and it's still very early in the process.

"The recruiting process is going good right now," the Rivals four-star running back said. "There's a lot going on right now, I'm pretty much getting recruited by every school in the nation, I just recently went to Oklahoma State's junior day and I'm going to be visiting Oregon over spring break."

A recruit with his talent, he's hearing from several schools every day.

"I get about five phone calls a day," the talented back said. "I've talked to a lot of schools."

The 5-foot-10, 176-pound Wilson has over 20 offers to choose from, including schools like Texas, LSU, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Clemson, Texas A&M, Texas Tech and Houston to name a few.

He's been to junior days at Texas, Texas A&M and most recently Oklahoma State. With so many offers he can virtually hand pick the school that he wants to go to, but there are five teams that stand out above all the rest for the talented back.

"Oregon, Oklahoma State, Texas, Texas A&M and Notre Dame are my top five right now," Wilson said.

Wilson has no plans to attend any additional junior days and is currently scheduled for any camps, but said he might be interested in participating in one of the Nike camps.

"I don't really have anything scheduled right now, said the speedy running back. "The last thing I have scheduled is going up to Oregon on March, 12."

With so many schools interested in his services, Wilson plans on taking his time to pick the right school.

"I'm going to focus on football and I'll make my decision after my senior year of football," Wilson added.

Last season at Desoto, Wilson tallied over 1,000 yards of total offense and a combined 20 touchdowns on offense. He's ready to explode in 2012 and as hard as it may be for his stock to rise any further, he could be a hot name to keep an eye on for 2013.
