Graham, Palmer fastest at Shrine Bowl combine
Class of 2008 prospects in North Carolina from the Triad to the Triangle converged on Ragsdale High in Jamestown, N.C., for the latest Shrine Bowl combine Saturday afternoon. But the surprise visitor was linebacker Terrell Manning from Scotland County High School in Laurinburg.
Manning was asked to return to the combine because his ankle was bothering him when he attended the Shrine Bowl combine at Richmond County Senior High in March. Since Virginia Tech's spring game was cancelled, Manning decided to go. Manning, sporting South Carolina shorts, checked in at 6-foot-3, 202 pounds and ran very solid 40-yard dash times of 4.66 and 4.69 seconds on a track that was noticeably slow. His best shuttle mark was 4.69 seconds. He also had a 32.8-inch vertical leap and 16 reps on the bench press at 185 pounds.
