Brown picks up long awaited OSU offer

Gateway High School in Monroeville, Pennsylvania has already been very kind to the Ohio State Buckeyes in the 2009 recruiting class. Five star linebacker Dorian Bell committed to OSU in April, and now the Bucks are going back for more. Recently OSU offered Bell's teammate and good friend Corey Brown.

It has been a good off season for Brown. He is seeing his stock rise in the eyes of college coaches, and now has offers from nearly every school in the country. The most recent offer for Brown came from Ohio State, and for him that was a big deal.

"I was real excited because I have always been an Ohio State fan," Brown said about getting word from OSU. "They always play for championships. I loved getting the offer; it was a big thing for me."

After receiving the offer from OSU, Brown said Bell was in his ear asking him one specific question. "Oh yeah, the only thing I heard was 'when are you going to commit, when are you going to commit?'"

With a weekend visit scheduled to Michigan, Brown is not in any hurry to make a decision. While he doesn't want the process to drag out too long, Brown says that he wants to see some of his top schools and just play things out.

"Right now my plans for me for each college is just too look around and see everything I can," said Brown.

Outside of OSU and Michigan, Brown says that a handful of other schools are showing him significant attention at the moment. "I would say Notre Dame, Maryland, North Carolina, West Virginia, and Tennessee."

At 6-foot and 180 pounds, Brown has the good size to go along with blazing speed. That combination has most schools looking at Brown to be a lock down corner.

"They are recruiting me at corner because I am big, physical, and can run," Brown explained. "They feel that they can utilize me best at corner."

Even with all of the offers pouring in, Brown is not content. He and his teammates are still working hard and trying to get better going into their senior season. "It is going real good this off season. We are working real hard in the weight room, running, lifting, and doing some agility workouts."
