Patience paying off: Stewart
MORGANTOWN--Bill Stewart remembers the night Noel Devine grew up. The 5-foot-9, 176-pound Rivals' midseason All-American is a man. He bench-presses 435 pounds. But it was when the junior asked Stew to calm down that the West Virginia head coach knew he had been pumping iron on the emotional side, too.
"Patience," was the word that popped out of Stewart's mouth during his segment of Monday's Big East conference coaches teleconference.
"A lot of young guys don't have that when they get to college," Stewart said with a chuckle. "When he got here, every time he carried the ball, he wanted to hit it as fast, as quick as he could. He was running in a million directions. Our offense is different from his high school (North Fort Myers (Fla.). They used the old wing T with a lot of motion.
