Haden, Tuggle to transfer

Boston College running back Josh Haden and quarterback Justin Tuggle have both decided to transfer from the program BC announced today. Haden, No. 2 on the depth chart at running back prior to an injury against NC State, and Tuggle, No. 3 on the depth chart after beginning the season as a starter, are both looking for a fresh start.

"Both young men expressed a desire to pursue their educations and football careers elsewhere," head coach Frank Spaziani said. "Each has contributed to our football program, and we wish them well."

Tuggle started the first three games for the Eagles this season. He completed 13-of-37 passes for 229 yards and four touchdowns. Haden has 58 carries for 213 yards and one touchdown this season.

Tuggle was a three-star recruit back in 2008 and chose the Eagles over offers from Indiana, Mississippi State, Ohio and Western Kentucky. Haden was a four-star recruit back in 2008 and chose the Eagles over offers from Florida, Ohio State and others.

True freshman Rolandan Finch will move to the backup role behind starter Montel Harris and barring any injuries, nothing changes at quarterback as freshman Mike Marscovetra remains the backup.
