Current players react to Andrews' retirement
On playing for Mickey Andrews:
"I am not going to lie, it took me a while to get used to Coach Mickey. I know personally for myself it was very frustrating when he would get in my ear about doing something wrong. After a while I just realized he was there to win it. He strived to make us better. Even if we did good, he wanted to know if it was the best we could do. He really pushed us. I really respect him for that."
On a defining moment with Mickey Andrews:
"It takes a strong man after the things that went down in his life with his son, and it showed how much he really cared for us. He said he looked at us as sons. When he lost his (son), he told us immediately that he regretted that he didn't say he loved him as often as he thought he maybe should have. He told us that he loved us and even though he may be a jerk at times, that it is out of love. I knew at that particular time he was really there for us and he cared a great deal about us. I really appreciated him for that. Not many men can say that they had Mickey Andrews in their life."
