Mississippi State has backed into a must win situation in their final two games to have any hopes of extending their season and reaching a bowl.
The Bulldogs are currently 4-6 on the season and will have to pick up wins at Arkansas and at home against Ole Miss in the Egg Bowl to reach postseason play.
MSU travels to Little Rock today to take on the Razorbacks at their home away from home War Memorial Stadium at 11:21 a.m. The Bulldogs have found success so far this season away from Starkville posting a 3-1 road mark.
State has never won in Little Rock as the Hogs hold a 4-0-1 record there in the series. Arkansas also leads the overall series 12-6-1 and have won nine of the last 10 meetings between the SEC West rivals.
The Bulldogs did however snap a nine-game losing skid to Arkansas in Starkville last season with a 31-28 victory. Mississippi State amassed 445 yards of offense against the Razorbacks with Anthony Dixon paving the way with 179 yards and three total touchdowns. Tyson Lee connected on 23-of-40 passing for 219 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions.
The Bulldogs offense enters today's game averaging 367.5 yards and 24.5 points per game. MSU picks up 208.7 yards on the ground and another 158.8 yards through the air. Their rushing attack currently ranked 15th in the nation and fourth in the conference.
