After visit, CMU in good position with CB Khari Burke

The Central Michigan Chippewas welcomed one of the nations top cornerback prospects to campus last weekend in Plantation (FL) speedster Khari Burke. After his visit, the nations No. 67 ranked corner came away very impressed.

"It went really good," said Burke. "Once I got there I checked into the hotel then the next day I toured campus and saw all the buildings and such. Saturday night I hung out with some of the players in their dorm room and then Sunday I took a tour of the football facilities. I got to see the practice field, the stadium and press box."

After hanging out with the players, Burke said it was nice to see some other guys from Florida.

"Yeah, there were a few guys from Dillard and I think one guy from Deerfield Beach, so it was good to have some guys from the area there."

During his tour of the campus, Burke was really impressed with the atmosphere at CMU.

"I like how the people treat you and the atmosphere around there."

Burke currently holds offers from Central Michigan, Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan, Tennessee State and Eastern Illinois. He reports that he is hearing the most from CMU and Bowling Green.

"I don't have any other visits lined up yet, but I might visit Bowling Green on January 4th, sometime around there," said Burke. "Right now, CMU is in a real good position with me."

Burke is considered one of the fastest defensive backs in the state of Florida and used his speed to rack up some solid stats as a senior. Burke reports that he had 5 interceptions with one of those getting returned for a touchdown, 2 rushing touchdowns and somewhere between 50 and 60 tackles as a corner for Plantation.

While there is no doubting Burke's speed on the field, he might also make a quick decision regarding his recruitment.

"Honestly, if I don't hear from some schools in a week or two, I'll probably commit to Central Michigan."
