Simmons enjoys return trip to Nashville

"They think I have a chance to come in and play pretty early, they seem to have high expectations of me. They talked about with Ryan Hamilton going down last year, having to move Sean Richardson over to free safety but he's more of an in the box guy. They said he could play there next year too, but they want me to get myself ready and do what I can to try to compete right away."

"I roomed with Sharrod Golightly and that went pretty well. We talked, in fact all of the recruits talked about how much we think we can be one of the best secondaries in the nation with all of our talent. All of the DB's were impressive and we got along very well."

"It started off pretty well, we were 4-1 and playing real good. Then we struggled and didn't finish the way we wanted to but we were a new school and our program had never won 7 games in a season before or won a playoff game, so we accomplished both of those goals. Of course, everyone wants to go further though and I'm still a little upset about that."

"I think I improved in my coverage a lot more. People were still running the ball a lot and throwing away from me, but when they did, I only gave up one touchdown and my confidence was just a lot higher in my ability."

"I'll be training with . It's a place where a lot of guys in this area go, like Louis Young, he'll be there and just a lot of defensive backs. We will work on our agility and speed and everything, just trying to improve. After seeing Sean Richardson, I definitely want to get bigger. I watched him workout some and work on his upper body, he's pretty big."

"I talked about it while I was there and I think I'm going to pursue something at the Peabody College, the Human and Organizational Development Program. I actually talked with a few people who might be my instructors when I get there, so I think that's probably what I'm going to do."

"It rained but I still enjoyed Nashville and do everything time I'm there. I really like the city. We still went on a boat ride and all of that. It's just a good city and community and where I want to be."

Will come to VU in mid-June and begin taking summer school classes during the July session.
