'No clue' from four-star Sanders after Ole Miss visit

Vincent Sanders left Oxford, Miss., on Sunday morning following his official visit to Ole Miss.

If the four-star wide receiver from Macon (Noxubee County), Miss., ever baffles college cornerbacks as well as he has the coaches who have pursued him on the recruiting trail, he'll be a sure-fire lock for the NFL.

On Sunday, as he has done for the better part of the last year, Sanders was holding his proverbial cards close to his chest with one official visit and 10 days remaining before he announces his college decision on WCBI-TV in Columbus, Miss.

"It went pretty well," Sanders said of his trip to Ole Miss. "I had a pretty good time. I really liked the coaching staff.

"It was a pretty good vibe. A lot of people came up. It was pretty much relaxed."

Sanders, who was hosted by Ole Miss wide receiver Markeith Summers, met with Rebel head coach Houston Nutt Sunday before leaving for Macon.

"He was telling me the situation I'm in and stuff like that, the opportunity I'd have," said Sanders, who added that Nutt didn't pressure him for a decision.

It's just as well, for Sanders is giving no hints.

"I don't have a No. 1," Sanders said. "There's nobody in the first spot or anything like that. I have no clue."

Sanders, who spent last weekend at Mississippi State, will travel to Florida State this weekend for his final trip before the Feb. 3 National Signing Day.

"I know what to expect pretty much," said Sanders, who went to Tallahassee earlier in the season for a game. "I want to see their dorm rooms and the rest of their facilities."

Sanders said he spent some time with four-star defensive end prospect Carlos Thompson during their time in Oxford this weekend. In so doing, he learned that he and the Hollandale, Miss., native are cousins on their mothers' side. Asked if it was possible the newfound relatives might be teammates in the fall, Sanders once again provided no hints.

"It's a possibility," Sanders said, "but I'm not sure."
