CMU bound fullback Tyler Lombardo enjoys official visit

There were numerous recruits on their official visits this weekend, including L'Anse Creuse runningback Tyler Lombardo. ChippewaCountry was able to catch up with the all-state running back after his visit to see how things went and where he stood with CMU after meeting head coach Dan Enos for the first time.

Lombardo arrived in Mount Pleasant on Friday and the first thing he did was assure Chippewa fans that he wasn't going anyplace but CMU. He spent the majority of the weekend getting to know his future teammates and hanging out with fellow recruits on their official visits.

"My visit was great, I really had a good time. I got to spend a lot of time getting to know the players and it was cool to just go out and hang out with them."

Lombardo was hosted by Florida native Caesar Rodriguez. While the two come from two completely different states and backgrounds, they shared a common personality.

"Yeah, Caesar was my host. He's a real cool guy and real down to earth like I am."

Additionally, Tyler got to know a few fellow 2010 recruits.

"I actually roomed with Kent King. I also got to hang out with Ben Brown and I met a few of the other guys that were up here like Kevin Henry and Deon Butler."

During the visit Lombardo was also able to meet with head Coach Dan Enos for the first time since taking over.

"I was able to meet with him on Saturday," said Lombardo. "I actually knew him from before when he was recruiting me at Michigan State. I'm pretty excited about him being the new coach, I'm going to be a fullback and able to block in the I formation and everything."
