SU visit opens eyes
Last week Miramar, Florida defensive back Keondrick Lyn thought his recruiting process was going to be coming to an end and he would be off to Northern Illinois. That is now not the case after a visit to Syracuse.
"The visit to Syracuse was great. I got to see a lot of stuff that you see in movies with Jim Brown and Ernie Davis and all that. The campus was great, the players were good, and the coaches were the best," Lyn said. "Rishard Anderson was my host he went to Miramar with me before he transferred to American Heritage."
Lyn, 6-foot-1, 172 pounds enjoyed everything on his visit to Syracuse, but one item was his favorite. The part of the trip that became his favorite made him think about how loud the Carrier Dome could get when a big play was needed on defense.
"My favorite part of the trip was going to the basketball game when they played Marquette. The crowd is great. Playing in the "Dome" is great it really gets loud especially on third down. The basketball game was only half of the stadium and it was loud."
Even thought the basketball game was his favorite parts of the trip the Orange coaches really stuck out to the Sunshine State product along with the academics.
"The part of the trip that stuck out the most to me was the coaches. They made you feel great and the education that was another key as well. They have the number one communications program in the nation."
One coach in particular made a big impression on Lyn.
"Coach Marrone, he is a cool guy he had me laughing the whole trip telling me with his stories about life and all that."
After the Syracuse visit what does Lyn think about the Orange?
"It really jumped up on me. I thought I was good to go before I went there, but now they rearranged a lot of stuff and now I have to start thinking," Lyn stated. "My Northern Illinois verbal is a soft verbal."
With a couple options left as recruiting comes to a close a final decision will come in a little over a week from Lyn.
"Signing day is looking real good [for a final decision] right now."
