Set to sign: Mike Hardy

Wisconsin native Mike Hardy verbally committed to Iowa early on and never wavered on his decision. The 6-foot-5, 270-pound Hardy says it is the coaches that made it such an easy choice and he is excited to get to work with them starting this summer. As signing day approaches, Hardy talks about making it official with the Hawkeyes, his future position, and more.

Q: What do you have planned for signing day on Wednesday?

HARDY: Well, Iowa wants me to have my papers signed and faxed down to them by 8:30 AM, so I'll just sign them here in the morning. Then we're setting up for the news and media to come at 2:30 PM for me and my teammate going to North Dakota State.

Q: What will that day mean to you as far as taking the next step?

HARDY: It's kind of just like when I committed during the summer. Through the whole recruiting process, it was kind of chaotic with a whole bunch of different schools contacting you. Once my parents and I sat down and thought everything through and I finally committed to Iowa, all of that kind of stopped and I could focus on my season. That's kind of what it's like now. Even though no other schools have been contacting me really since I committed, now it's finally officially done. In a couple months, I'll be going down there and starting my college career.
