Alexander leads DSHS into playoffs

Dripping Spring High School has been in a playoff push in District 26-4A for third place and the last remaining playoff spot from the district behind Austin LBJ and Austin Reagan, ranked No. 12 and No. 15 in the state respectively. Tuesday night Dripping Springs finished its quest for the playoffs with a 66-54 win over Austin Travis, the team in third place before Tuesday.

Leading the way for Dripping Springs was senior forward and Texas A&M signee Daniel Alexander who scored 20 points, pulled down 22 rebounds and narrowly missed a triple-double with nine assists.

The 6-foot-8, 195-pound Rivals.com four-star prospect is rated No. 89 in the 2010 Rivals150 and signed with Texas A&M over scholarship offers from Texas, Oklahoma and Arizona.
