Cincy LB adds Spartan offer

The city of Cincinnati has been good to Michigan State under Mark Dantonio, at least in terms of landing All-American talent in linebacker Greg Jones as a recruit in 2007, and the Spartans are back in the Queen City this recruiting cycle where they have targeted inside linebacker prospect Jarrett Grace of Colerain High School.

The 6-4, 230-pound Grace, a Rivals250 to Watch member, was recently offered by the Spartans, and he talked to SpartanMag.com about the latest in his recruitment Tuesday night.

"I actually haven't heard too much from them at all," Grace said. "Right after I originally got my Notre Dame offer, Coach Harlon Barnett came in to see me, so I talked to him a little bit then. He hinted at, 'Make sure they're (ND) not the only green school you think about.' That's the last I heard from them … And then they contacted my head coach and said they want to offer me.

"I got officially offered last week, from what I know."

Grace said he plans to be in contact with the MSU staff soon.

"I'm going to give one of the coaches a call," Grace said. "I'll call them pretty soon, just because I do have interest in Michigan State. I do like the things up there."
