Issaka's stock is rising
The last couple of weeks have been exciting for Max Issaka, and that may be an understatement.
The 6-foot-2, 228-pound defensive end from Woodbridge, New Jersey received an offer from Central Florida and then Maryland did the same shortly after that.
"Maryland called during (last) week and offered me a scholarship and (the) UCF (offer) came the week before that.
"I think both are great because they want me to be a rush end and to attack. Rutgers basically wants me as a hybrid. They (Rutgers) want me to play both linebacker and defensive end. I don't feel too comfortable playing linebacker, though.
"UCF and Maryland's approach is specific. They want me to play defensive end, rush end, and just go after the quarterback.
"I like both of them and I have a couple family (members) in Baltimore, so they're not too far from Maryland. UCF would be another way for me to go play in the type (of weather) that I like. I like to play in the heat. That's when I play best."
Issaka said he is planning on attending a junior day at Maryland on March 27. He is trying to plan a trip to UCF as well.
"UConn and Pitt basically want to see me before they offer me. I mean, they've basically already offered, but they want to see me before they really do."
The talented junior prospect said he is not sure whether he will make an early decision or wait things out.
