Will Athlete DeAndre Scott visit Army?

There is no doubt that the name DeAndre Scott that will be flying high on the Army radar throughout the recruiting season. But then again, the talented prospect out of (Md.) Thomas Johnson High School is on the radar of several schools.

Scott is hearing from a list of who's who in college football. From two academies in both Army and Navy, along with the likes of Kansas State, UNC, UCLA, Pitt, NC State, Rutgers, Alabama, Tennessee and Duke. Not to mention he has his first offer from Central Michigan where his brother Derrick plays cornerback.

"Most schools are waiting for the evaluation period to start, but there are a couple of schools like Duke that are waiting for me to take my SAT's before they offer me, shares Scott, who is plays both wide receiver and cornerback.

And when it comes to Army, the 6-foot-0, 175 pound athlete likes what he has heard about the Black Knights. "It is like a real good school," declares Scott. "My former teammate, Marquis Woodyard was recruited by Army and he was telling the coaches are great and the facilities are the best around. West Point is a great place to graduate from, especially if you aren't going to the NFL."

Scott is equally as effect at both wide receiver and corner, and should find that most schools would look at him on both sides of the ball. "It doesn't matter, although my main position is receiver, but I have the talent to play corner at the next level," confirms Scott, who finished his junior season with 11 receptions for 215 yards and 2 touchdowns. "We had a two beast running backs in Nick Forbes and Jeremy Grove, Nick committed to Cal and Jeremy committed to ECU so my numbers were down last year. My coach said we are going to be throwing the ball about 30 times per game"

On defense, he registered 45 tackles, 7 INT, with 10 pass breakups and one interception returned for a touchdown.

PREPARATION HAYDEN STYLE

If you want to be one of the best, you have to train like and in some cases, with the best. That is exactly what Scott is doing, as he prepares himself for this summer's camps, combines and his senior season.

"I train with Joe Hayden, Sr. down in the Upper Marlboro (DC) area," Scott states.

"Last time I was there, Joe Jr. was back preparing for the NFL combine. I trained before with his youngest son, Jordan who committed to Florida. I have actually trained with all three, Joe, Josh and Jordan, along with my brother (Derrick).

Right now I'm going down the road to see Mr. Hayden, where I do lifting with him and then to Athletic Republic - "Accelerate Your Game", where I train on speed training and footwork so I can be ready for camps and combines."

COMING ON STRONG

Scott indicated that he is receiving the most interest right now from Rutgers, Navy and Missouri. "These guys send me stuff all the time and reach out to my coach constantly," confirms the talented athlete. "Connecticut is coming on hard as well, along with UCLA and I'm starting to hear from Army.
