Chaney set to fulfill boyhood dream
By the end of the week Jamar Chaney's boyhood dream will come true.
The 6-foot-1, 242-pound linebacker out of Mississippi State will take his talents to the professional ranks following the NFL Draft that begins on Thursday.
"It's a dream come true just to have the opportunity to be an NFL player," Chaney said. "It's been my dream ever since I've been playing Pop Warner football. It's a lot of kid's dream but only a couple get to live it out. I just have to give all the praise, honor and glory to God."
Chaney has been projected to go as early as the second round on Friday but he will be satisfied no matter when his name is called.
"I've been heard second or third but you don't ever know until they call your name," Chaney said. "My projection is going to be whenever they call my name then that's where I'll be. I'm trying not to get my hopes up or my hopes down. I'm just going to relax and wait for that phone to ring."
Chaney has met with several teams over the past few weeks but does not know which NFL team his might end up with.
