Black Knights offer DE, Peter Igras

Over past couple of months, the recruitment of Peter Igras has quickly gained a full head of steam. The All-Region defensive end already has three offers to his credit and has several other schools knocking on his door.

Last season the 6-foot-3, 240 pound defender registered 83 tackles, 6.5 sacks and 2 forced fumbles and is looking to continue his intense play in 2010.

Igras, who is out of Scottsdale (Ariz.) Notre Dame Prep has offers from Army, Navy and Air Force but indicated that there are others that may be close to extending offers. "Right now I would say that Idaho and Fresno State … those two are pretty close to offering me," says Igras, who received his offer from Army last Saturday.

"Coach Guyader visited my school and a few days later he called me … then he offered; which was my second offer. He's a good guy and I'm very interested in the academies."

Breakdown of the Academies

Army - "I'm very interested because it is one of the best schools in the nation. Since I have lived on the East Coast before … actually, I really like the east coast."

Air Force - "Two of my former teammates are up there right now and I wouldn't mind playing with them again."

Navy - "I lived in Maryland for about 8-9 years, so I have visited there and I really liked it."

So what is Igras looking for in a school? "It has to have great academics, good football tradition and a good location," declares Irgas, who made it clear that all academies have ask him to attend their camps and he plans on attending all three, along with a few other possible camps.

GoBlackKnights.com will continue to follow Pete Igras throughout the summer and his senior year.
