LB Jackson adds first offer
West Chester (Pa.) Westchester Henderson linebacker Myles Jackson was very busy during the first month of the summer, attending as many camps as his schedule would allow.
In all the 6-foot-4, 225-pound outside linebacker camped at Temple, Penn State, Rutgers, Ohio State, Pitt, Boston College and UConn.
After attending all of those camps Jackson settled down into a waiting mode, just hoping to hear some good news from some of the coaches that had watched him perform.
Apparently all of his hard work and efforts have started to pay off.
"I received an offer from Temple," Jackson told Rivals.com on Wednesday.
"My dad was talking to coach (Mark) D'Onofrio and he said they really like me and they're going to give me an offer. The official (offer) should be in the mail today. It feels great to get that first one and hopefully there are more on the way. I put a lot of hard work in."
Temple isn't just an offer for Jackson. It's a school he seems to be very interested in.
"I like it," he said of the Owls' program and the school. Coach Golden and the staff are turning things around and leaving their mark on the program. It's a totally different philosophy and people in the area really respect them now. I think they're on the rise and moving in the right direction."
Jackson said he performed well at all of the other camps and does not plan on making a decision any time soon.
"I'm not in a rush right now," he explained. "I feel good with what I did and now I can start to focus on my senior season."
Last fall Jackson recorded 77 tackles, five sacks and an interception.
