Waynes visits Iowa City

The Iowa coaching staff has been heavily recruiting Wisconsin running back Melvin Gordon for some time now, but recently started taking a closer look at his high school teammate, Trae Waynes, as well. This past weekend, the 6-foot-0, 160-pound Waynes made a visit to Iowa City to learn more about the Hawkeyes.

Waynes has had an impressive summer, making several camp stops where he has shown off his impressive speed and cornerback skills. He has been hand-timed as fast as 4.28 in the forty and now has eight scholarship offers to his name, including Wisconsin, Michigan State, Illinois, and Iowa State.

After visiting Iowa, Waynes is now on his way to East Lansing where he will join Kenosha Bradford teammates Melvin Gordon, Gino DeBartolo, Joe Keels, and junior Vonte Jackson on a visit to Michigan State.
