Desir likes the SU defense

North Miami Beach is one school that has really caught the eye of the Syracuse coaches during the 2011 recruiting season. They have offered four prospects from the school and one of them is defensive back Ritchy Desir.

Desir, 6-foot-1, 175 pounds has known about his Syracuse offer for sometime now before the official letter made its way to Florida and he was pleased to receive the offer.

"I found out during the spring, I am not sure of the exact date when I got it. I thought it was a good offer they are a good team and I also thought to myself that they had a good coaching staff."

Right now the one item sticking out about Syracuse is their coaches and one in particular.

"I really like their defensive coordinator Scott Shafer. He has great schemes and he is good with play calling," Desir said. "Our relationship is good he is an out going guy and he speaks his mind and I like what he does."

The Florida prospect has solid size and speed for a defensive back and that is what the Syracuse coaches like about him.

"Corner or safety, defensive back is all I know right now. I am big, physical, and I can use my speed."

As it stands now Desir has four other scholarship offers a couple of the schools he knows and the others he does not.

Florida International: "That is a good school and we have some of our old players over there. I would not mind playing with them again."

Western Michigan: "I like their defense and they have big corners and safeties in their secondary. I would not mind getting in a rotation with all of them early on."

Kansas: "Kansas well right now I don't really know much about Kansas."

Texas Tech: "I don't know much about Texas Tech either right now."

With five offers in hand Desir is still looking to get more information about the schools that have offered and a decision is not likely to come soon.

"I have not thought about that yet. I am going to sit down after my last season of high school football and then I will worry about that."
