Louisiana TE has plenty of options

During the month of June Lafayette, La., tight end Evan Tatford took time out to visit several schools hoping to expand his list of offers.

The 6-foot-6, 230-pounder already has seven scholarships on the table and will likely land several more before the process is complete.

Tatfor has offers from Louisiana-Lafayette, McNeese State, Memphis, Miami (Ohio), Northwestern State, Southeastern Louisiana and Tulane.

"Recruiting has been going well," Tatford said. "It's kind of slowed down over the summer because of school being out so I haven't been getting much mail lately. I still keep in contact with all of the schools that I have offers from right along with Texas A&M and Vanderbilt. I try to call the coaches every other week to let them know I'm still interested and try to keep a good relationship with all of them."

Tatford's summer camp tour made stops at Texas A&M, Baylor, Vanderbilt, Mississippi State and Louisiana-Lafayette.

The St. Thomas More standout's visit to Starkville went well as he practiced at Davis Wade Stadium in front of the Bulldogs coaches.

"I went to Mississippi State in June for a camp," Tatford said. "We were on our way back from Tennessee and I stopped in on their camp on Monday. I did well but I don't think I tested as well as normal. It was the third camp in four days that I went to and I was kind of tired. I performed well but that was the same time Rufus Warren committed so things have slowed down with them. I still get e-mails from that Coach (Dan) Mullen sends out to all the recruits."

Even with seven offers already Tatford is not ready to start narrowing his list down just yet.
