Anderson wants to follow in Chaney's footsteps

Demetris Anderson has always looked up to hometown hero Jamar Chaney.

The former Mississippi State star and Fort Pierce, Fla., native has always motivated Anderson and now that Chaney is in the NFL it has him wanting to follow in his footsteps.

"I know Jamar Chaney real good," Anderson said. "He's now with the Philadelphia Eagles and is doing real good with them. When he comes back we do our running and lifting weights. He's really stayed on top of me to get my test scores, staying in shape and staying out of trouble. I'm going to be like him one day and make it to the NFL."

The 6-foot-2, 285-pound three-star defensive tackle has already picked up four scholarship offers from Central Florida, Illinois, Wisconsin and Bethune-Cookman.

"All of them are really standing out to me," Anderson said. "It's going to be a hard decision. All of them are nice schools to go to and to choose only one of them is going to be really hard."

Anderson is also expecting offers soon from Purdue and South Florida. He is also hoping to hear more from Chaney's alma mater Mississippi State.
