Reddish visits UConn
Brooklyn (N.Y.) Fort Hamilton wide receiver Brandon Reddish has had a busy summer, but was able to squeeze in a visit to Connecticut over the weekend. Reddish not only enjoyed his time on campus, but also felt wanted by the UConn coaching staff.
"They seemed really interested in me and seemed like they wanted me to come play for UConn," said Reddish, a three-star prospect who caught 30 passes for 760 yards and 12 touchdowns for Fort Hamilton last season. "They said I have potential to start [at receiver] if I work hard."
Reddish made the short trip to Storrs with his mother. While on campus, the two had a chance to walk around and get a feel for the school, but they also had an opportunity to watch a football practice. Reddish came away impressed with the experience.
"I really liked the intensity at practice," said Reddish. "The defense was swarming to the ball every play. The offense was loud. It was fun to watch."
Reddish also likes the idea of staying close to home. UConn's close proximity to Brooklyn would allow him to do just that.
"It's good, because my family could come to the home games," said Reddish. "If I needed to come home it wouldn't be very far. It's a big factor."
At the moment, Reddish has offers from Connecticut, Boston College, Maryland, Penn State, Rutgers, Syracuse, Virginia and West Virginia. Because of that fact, Reddish is in no rush to make a decision.
"I'm planning on waiting until National Signing Day," said Reddish. "I'm hoping to take some official visits after the season and see more about the schools."
Until then, Reddish plans to spend his time and energy on the football field.
"I haven't begun to narrow down my list of favorites yet," said Reddish. "I'm focusing on my senior season right now and trying to win a championship."
