PG Chris Harrison-Docks adding more offers
If 2012 Okemos (MI) point guard Chris Harrison-Docks was not thought of as one of the top players in the state of Michigan yet, it should be very apparent now.
Harrison-Docks now holds ten offers from the likes of Central Michigan, Utah, Drake, Akron, San Diego State, Bradley, Ball State, Sam Houston State, Western Kentucky and Western Michigan. Factor in his impressive stats, offer list, and schools showing interest, and Harrison-Docks has legititmely put himself in the upper tier of the 2012 class.
"Stanford has been coming on real strong as of late, and so has Wake Forest," added Harrison-Docks. "I also stay in contact with Central Michigan a lot, I actually just talked to Coach (Darren) Kohne the other day."
And how did that talk go?
"It went real good, he's a real cool guy and he was just telling me that they're trying to make something special at CMU and that I could be a big time player for them. I don't know if I'm going to go up there for a visit on the date we talked about yet because it's on my homecoming, but I definitely want to go see a game."
Through contact with the Central Michigan staff and his own research, Harrison-Docks has been able to get good vibes about the CMU program.
"I think they are very well respected," said Harrison-Docks on the CMU coaching staff. "From everything I've heard, they are real classy and do things the right way. I also know Trey Zeigler a bit, and I've seen Derek Jackson play."
When he's not adding to his impressive offer list, Harrison-Docks is either in the gym getting stronger or on the practice court working on his game.
"My offseason has been going good, I actually just took about a week off to relax after the tournaments, and now I'm getting back into things and just got done with open gym," added Harrison-Docks. "I've just been working on getting bigger in the weight room and then working on my shot, finishing around the basket and just making the right basketball decisions on the court."
Last season Okemos finished 15-5 overall before falling to Lansing Eastern in the district semi-finals. With a talented roster returning, Harrison-Docks will once again look to lead his team in their conference, and once again a talented Lansing Eastern squad led my F LaDontae Henton will be in their way.
"We should be really good, we actually added another player who is probably a high level Division II guy and we have some talent," said Harrison-Docks. "I know Eastern was picked #1, but we're not far behind them. And I think we match up well with them, LaDontae will probably get his, but we have some other things going for us."
Harrison-Docks spent his offseason playing for his AAU team, the Indiana Elite. He was able to string together several strong performances, including a tournament in Las Vegas where he averaged 20 points and 8 assists. Schools continue to come forward and show strong interest in the talented guard, but he indicated to ChippewaCountry that he will most likely wait his decision out until after his season.
