Ameen-Moore ready for Syracuse visit

When Syracuse plays Pittsburgh on Saturday it will also marks their biggest recruiting weekend of the year. One of the prospect hitting campus is Adonis Ameen-Moore.

Ameen-Moore, 5-foot-10, 215 pounds is from Mullen High School is Colorado the same high school as Orange freshman Jonny Miller. With his former teammate at Syracuse Ameen-Moore has paid more attention to the Orange and likes what he sees.

"I think they are doing a good job. They just went down to South Florida last week and got a big victory. I think they are doing real good."

The one item that the three star prospect likes about the Orange is how they run the football.

"Oh yeah most definitely. I talk with Coach Hackett all the time and he tells me how much he loves running the ball anyways. It is good because he does what he preaches and I am glad to see that."

A couple of weeks ago the Colorado product visited Colorado State and now with his second visit on the horizon he is excited to see what happens at Syracuse.

"I am just really looking forward to seeing the school, I have seen pictures before. I have never been to New York or the east coast. I just want to see how a regular day for a football player is."

At Syracuse he is also looking forward to seeing one of his former teammates and close friends.

"Jonny is going to be ecstatic to see me and I can't wait to see him as well, we have been talking all week. His dad called my dad the other day, we started playing together when I was a freshman and he was a sophomore, so our families have become real close."

Syracuse's freshman quarterback has been talking to Ameen-Moore a lot and the prospect likes what his old quarterback tells him.

"He has already told me things and how much he likes it and how much fun he has out there. He tells me it's a great fit and he knows what kind of player I am and he thinks it is a great fit for me. I am going to trust what he says, I'm real close with him."

Not only does he trust his friend, but he has developed a great relationship with two other people from Syracuse.

"My relationship with Coach Hackett is pretty good, we are real close. I have been talking with him for awhile. It is him and Coach Wheatley and it is crazy how much respect I have received from them. I also have a lot of respect for them and I have not even met them in person yet. I have a good relationship with both of them."

When it comes to adapting his craft to the college game the chance to learn from Tyrone Wheatley is something that he likes as well.

"We have very similar running styles, so I think I can learn a lot of things from him that I could probably not learn from another coach that is recruiting me. He played in the league for awhile and did a great job at Michigan. There are just a lot of things he can teach me like how to keep my weight down, how to trim up, and what to do is a power running back."

At the end of the day when Ameen-Moore is asked on what is the first thing that he thinks about when it comes to the Orange there are two items.

"That Delone Carter is leaving and I would have a chance to come in and compete as a true freshman. They run the ball a lot, Coach Wheatley is the running backs coach, and well those are really the key things right there."

With all he likes about the Orange is there a chance he could end the recruiting process when he ends his visit this weekend?

"I want to go see all of those schools before I start making any decisions," Ameen-Moore said. "I am going to wait until I take my visits before I decide on who I like the most. I will probably make my decision in January or December."

Quick Hitter : Ameen-Moore plans to visit Utah and Kansas State after his season.
