DT, Atimalala says yes to the Black Knights
Back in August, GBK noted that defensive tackle Tala Atimalala does not hesitate or waver when it comes to expressing his level of interest in the Black Knights.
GBK.com also stated that in the August 18th article that, "it would not be much of a surprise if the 6-foot-0, 270 pound tackle made a verbal commitment to Army, even prior to him taking an official visit to the West Point campus.
Well for Atimalala, who is looking to set up an official visit sometime in December to the West Point campus that time has come.
"I already gave Coach Saadat my word that I want to become a Black Knight and gave him my verbal commitment," shared the excited Atimalala.
"I emailed him first, because he tried to call me and I missed his call because of time difference. In my email I let him know how serious I was and then he called me. He told me how serious they were about me being a Black Knight and I told him that I can't wait to come up for my official visit."
"My visit will be when I'm out of school
Somewhere between 15th and the 30th.
Atimalala has been keeping an eye on Army's progress this season, and feels that he fits well into the Black Knights' defensive schemes. "I have been following their season and I like the way their defense is running," he says.
The tough defensive tackle out of Las Vegas (Nev.) Desert Pines High School is still receiving interest from other schools, but said his pledge to Army is sealed as far as he is concerned. "Coach Newhouse of Oregon State came to one of my games and even Hawaii came down to watch one of my game, but I've already made up my mind
I'm a Black Knight.
GoBlackKnights.com congratulates Tala Atimalala for becoming the newest member of the Black Knights' 2011 recruiting class.
