Three-star LB set to take official visit to Army

For hard hitting inside linebacker Cody McCarthy from Boise (Idaho) Bishop Kelly High School the recruiting process is starting

I'm visiting Army the week prior to signing date, says McCarthy, who is ranked No. 36 among the nation's inside linebackers by, as well as the 5th ranked player in the state of Idaho.

This means that the 6-foot-1 1/2, 230 pound backer will be on the West Point campus January 28th.

In addition to linebacker, where on the season he finished with 169 tackles, McCarthy, who also plays fullback.

As well as his offer from Army, he also holds offers from Washington State and Idaho State.

When asked about the possibility of playing for the Black Knights, McCarthy offers this response. I currently play for the Knights and being recruited by the Black Knights … I think that's pretty cool," says a laughing McCarthy, who then provided a serious assessment his recruitment by Army.

"I'm very high on Army … it's a great place. I'm just taking things day by day and see how it all unfolds."

McCarthy and his teammates at Bishop Kelly finished the season with an undefeated record of 12-0 and 4A State Champions as they defeated Blackfoot High School 41-28

His is being recruited by Army's offensive coordinator, Ian Shields and will continue to follow his McCarthy's status all the way until Signing Day.
