Late changes for Washington
Dillard High School in Fort Lauderdale is home to Daerius Washington a three star linebacker that has been very high on the Syracuse Orange during the recruiting process. The prospect made a visit to Syracuse and was ready to commit, but a few weeks' later plans have changed.
"Syracuse is currently my leader, but they ran out of linebacker scholarships because of a recent commitment. They are still my leaders, like if someone de-committed today I would probably commit to Syracuse."
Now since everything has become unclear for Washington as far as his commitment he has set up more visits.
"I have the trips to Western Kentucky and Western Michigan set up. I am going on those in the coming weeks."
When he does visit those schools however they will be compared to the visit he took to Syracuse.
"I am just looking for the same thing that I was looking for at Syracuse when I went there. I am just looking for how the environment is, the coaching staff, and if I feel comfortable."
Outside of Western Kentucky and Western Michigan two new schools have started to show interest in the Sunshine State product.
"Now though there are new schools coming in, Texas Tech is showing me a lot of love. I should know by the end of the week if I have an offer from Texas Tech. The University of Miami has also started to show me interest. Right now I would say it is all up for grabs."
As for Washington ending up at Syracuse a lot of things will have to go his way, but it is all a waiting game right now.
"Syracuse just said it is wait and see right now."
