Kansas linebacker hoping for first offer

The buzz is just starting for Wichita (Kan.) inside linebacker Bennett Moore. The Northwest High School standout is hearing from four Division I schools after a season that saw him collect nearly 100 tackles.

Moore stands 6-foot-2, weighs 220 pounds and featured 4.7 speed in the 40-yard dash. He also has a bench press max of 325, a squat of 380 and a 3.2 grade-point average in the classroom. Last season Bennett managed 98 tackles, 22 tackles for a loss, 3 sacks and 2 interceptions (one returned for a score) for a 5-5 Northwest squad.

"My best thing is probably reading from the outside and following the running back," Moore said. "I have very quick reads. Once I see it, I can get there really fast."

Those numbers have Moore getting interest from Kansas and Kansas State, Colorado State, Air Force, North Dakota and South Dakota.

Moore said he has already been to Junior Days at KU and K-State, as well as other visits to Manhattan and Lawrence as well. Air Force has been in heavy contact and Moore said Colorado State has been talking to him coach at length. He also has plans to visit Penn for their Spring Game.

"I want to see all of the places that are paying me attention. I would like to see," he said. "I am looking for a good business school. I want to be a sports agent. Football is football to me. I want a good fan base, good coaches and facilities. It doesn't matter to me, I am not too particular."
