Richardson set for visit

It's been just over two weeks since Tennessee rolled out the red-carpet to welcome Cuonzo Martin to campus as the men's head basketball coach. This weekend, the coach himself will be the rolling out the carpet as he welcomes his first official visitor to Knoxville as the Vols' coach. Shooting guard Josh Richardson from Edmond, Okla., a hot commodity in the late signing period, will make the trip on Friday.

Richardson (6-foot-5, 180 pounds) was well-acquainted with Martin and his Missouri State staff and it didn't take Martin long to reach out to Richardson when he relocated to Knoxville. The Oklahoma native had a scholarship offer from Tennessee before Martin even stepped to the podium to formally be introduced in Knoxville. Shortly after that he had an official visit date lined up.

With Scotty Hopson eyeing the NBA draft, Cameron Tatum set to depart after the upcoming season and Kevin Ware having secured a release from his Letter of Intent, the need for help on the wing in this class is a real one.

Rivals.com rates Richardson as a three-star prospect and the No. 121 overall player in the Class of 2011.
