Goins expects offers after camp appearances

Jamison Goins does not yet have a scholarship offer.

However, the linebacker/defensive end from Gulfport, Miss., isn't worried yet. In fact, he's quite confident his offer list is about to become plentiful.

Goins, a 6-foot-2, 245-pounder, will camp at Memphis on June 3, Ole Miss on June 4 and Mississippi State on June 6. He plans to camp at Southern Mississippi later in the summer, and Goins said he expects all four schools to offer once they see him perform.

"I feel like I'm getting close," Goins said. "I feel like if I go to the camps, they're going to offer me. I guess they just want to see me in person and in action. Right now, they've only seen me on film."

Goins is in no hurry to make a decision, but he admits he has an early favorite.

"Right now, I'm liking Ole Miss," Goins said. "I don't know, though. I want to see who offers."

The Rebels, like other schools recruiting Goins, aren't exactly sure where they would put Goins if he were to sign with Ole Miss in February. It's a theme he hears often.

"It doesn't matter, but some list me as kind of a bandit," Goins said. "They see me as a rush end or a big linebacker. Some see me as a middle linebacker. I just want to get on the field."
