Broyld talks football

Henrietta (N.Y.) Rush Henrietta quarterback Ashton Broyld has had a tough year when it comes to recruiting. First he had to work on his grades to get offers and then after that there was a legal issue that came to light. With everything out of his control now he was in Syracuse over the weekend with his focus on football.

"I think it was good for all of us players to get out one last time before we all start really playing ball again. This was a big game and it was just like a little preparation for college. It will be good for a lot of us and it will and it will let us know what we have to look forward to at the net level."

This plans to be a short summer for Broyld, but in that short time he is looking to improve on a few items.

"I want to get stronger mentally so I can handle the pressure of the coaches and staff, I have to adjust. Other than that I am going to be out there lifting and running trying to get stronger."

When the young quarterback starts his college career he will not start with any great expectation, rather he will take everything in stride while he learns.

"I am just going to take it one step at a time I have a lot to learn and I am not looking too far down the road."

Off of the field though he does have one goal in mind.

"I want to make the dean's list. On the field I do not know what to expect, so I can't say much about that."

The legal questions still looms over Broyld, but he is ready to take whatever comes his way. He also full expects to be at Syracuse at the start of July.

"I do not know what will happen with that, but hopefully I learn from that and take whatever I get and move on," Broyld said. "I do plan on being at Syracuse on July third."
