Q&A with Stanford Commitment Jontrey Tillman

Baldwin (LA) West Saint Mary School athlete
Jontrey Tillman was looking to garner more interest in the recruiting process. However, those plans changed when Tillman got the offer that he just could not refuse from the Cardinal just last week.

Tillman is the latest commitment to the 2012 Stanford Football recruiting class.

The 5-foot-9, 180-pound prospect verbally committed to Stanford on Friday, ending the recruiting process before it ever really began. Until Friday, Tillman only held offers from Memphis, New Mexico, Nicholas State, Southern Miss, SMU, and Tulane.

Stanford has a long history of garnering very productive players from the state of Louisiana in the past. And hopefully, Tillman lives up to the precedence that Anthony Kimble, Jeremy Stewart, Brandon Harrison, Marc Stockbauer, amongst others.

Tillman has posted a 4.39 - 40 yard dash as well as a 10.48 - 100m time. Before he pulled his quad this track season, Tillman was reportedly to have the fast track 100m in the entire state of Louisiana.

In 2010, Tillman gained over 2,200 All Purpose Yards with 1,451 rushing yards and 18 Total TDs.

Tillman is Stanford's fourth verbal commitment from the Class of 2012, with the Virginia DB Alex Carter, Florida LB Noor Davis, and Texas WR Dontonio Jordan.
