Childress camps at Tech; awaiting offer
Louisiana Tech can never have too many wide receivers in "the system" and will likely sign several every season as long as Sonny Dykes and/or Tony Franklin are in Ruston.
One player they may try and sign is, Grant Childress (Grace Community, Tyler, Tx.).
Childress worked out at the Louisiana Tech camp on the 12th and ran a 4.69 40 yard dash measured 5'11" and weighed 168 pounds.
"I really liked it, the coaches are good and I talked with a couple of them afterwards. I think I did good and made a couple of good catches," said Childress of the camp.
Franklin could be seen often working with Childress one-on-one.
"[Franklin] was just giving me pointers on a few things like coming out of my breaks better," said Childress.
Childress believes Tech is close to offering him and currently holds offers from Nevada and Texas State and said Nevada his favorite out of those two.
If Tech were to offer Childress said it would definitely be considered along with Nevada.
Given Nevada's recent success, Childress said he has been watching them the last few years and likes their program.
Playing close to home is not deciding factor for Childress and he projects to be a full qualifier.
