Allen looks to learn more about SU
Hilliard (Fla.) athlete Marcus Allen can play many positions on the football field whether it is on offense or defense. The Syracuse Orange offered him as a linebacker and he is looking forward to seeing what they have to offer him.
"Syracuse offered me in May. I was really excited when I got it."
When the offer did come in though it was not the football program that caught his eye, but another sport Syracuse plays well.
"I knew a lot more about their basketball team. Now, since I have had the offer though I've thought about it being in the Big East and they have a good academic program."
As the summer beings Allen is not sure what visits he will be taking and that includes any kind of trip to Syracuse.
"I have not taken a visit to Syracuse yet. I am really not sure about what schools I will be visiting."
For Syracuse defensive line coach Jimmy Brumbaugh is leading the charge for the Orange and the prospect thinks they get along well.
"Coach Jimmy Brumbaugh is recruiting me for them. We have a good relationship he is a nice guy."
As mentioned above Syracuse would like Allen to play linebacker and the prospect talked about what he feels makes him a division one prospect at the position.
"Syracuse is recruiting me as a linebacker. I am smart and I have good athleticism. There are still a lot of areas where I can improve though."
What position does he feel is his best?
"Some of the schools that are looking at me want me to play running back, so I am being recruited really for linebacker and running back," Allen said. "Right now I feel like I play running back the best, but I am open for playing any position."
With new offers still coming in and visits yet to be taken there is still plenty of time left in the Sunshine State products recruitment.
"My decision is still a long ways of I am going to wait things out and take all of my visits."
