Roushar eager to see how offense fares in first exam
EAST LANSING - Michigan State offensive Dan Roushar has watched his young offensive line continue to inch forward in their development during practice this week. That growth comes on the heels of significant improvement between the first and second games of the 2011 season.
"Our fundamentals were better, assignment-wise we were better," Roushar explained. "That was encouraging and looking at them yesterday, I thought we had a pretty good day of practice yesterday. So we are starting to make some small strides."
Now the first-year Spartan coordinator is eager to see how Michigan State's front five handles the pressure playing against a quality opponent on the road for the first time this year.
"I think that our football team is anxious to go on the road and have a strong test like we are going to have against a team who is going to have their back against the wall," explained Roushar, who spent his first four season on the Spartan coaching staff with the O-line. "We are going to get their best. They've turned the ball over 10 times. You take the turnovers away and they are a 2-0 football team. There is no doubt about that."
