The new Ohio State coaching staff has certainly made a major impact on the recruiting trail, grabbing some high profile recruits over the last month and a half, many of which were previously committed to other schools. The tables were turned a bit this past weekend as four-star defensive back De'van Bogard out of Cleveland (Ohio) Glenville made an official visit out West to USC. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound prospect is committed to Ohio State but is listening to what the USC coaches have to say.

"It was fun, it was nice," said Bogard of the USC visit. "We toured the campus, both the academic part and the football part and we sat down and looked at plays and the defensive coaches were showing us what we would be playing if we were to go there."

Bogard spent some time with former teammate and current Trojan offensive lineman Aundrey Walker while on his visit. When it comes to the coaches, there were two assistants that Bogard said he spent the most time with.

"I talked to all of the coaches," he explained. "I spent the most time with coach (Ted) Gilmore and coach Monte Kiffin. They were just telling me about where they are recruiting me; they are recruiting me as a strong safety."

The trip to Los Angeles gave Bogard some added perspective and comfort level with USC.

"It helped (USC's) chances, but we'll see what happens on Signing Day," he said.

Bogard returned to Cleveland late on Sunday night and on Monday had a chance to speak with Ohio State co-defensive coordinator Luke Fickell.

"I talked to Ohio State today," he said. "I talked to coach Fickell. He was just seeing how I was and how my trip was to USC, just checking on me."

As far as his commitment status to Ohio State, Bogard put that into his own words and gave a percentage on the chances that he ultimately signs with the Buckeyes on National Signing Day.

"I'm still committed to Ohio State," he said. "I'd say it's a 75-percent chance (that he signs with Ohio State on National Signing Day)."

Bogard added that he does not plan to take any more official visits between now and National Signing Day.
