Three stick out for QB Boyle
Syracuse will bring in quarterback Ashton Broyld with the class of 2012, but the Orange are already looking at more quarterback prospects in the class of 2013. One of those prospects is Tim Boyle from Middletown (Conn.) Xavier.
"Syracuse offered me at the end of this past years summer camp," Boyle said. "It was not my first offer that was Boston College, then Syracuse, and then Connecticut."
Even thought it was not his first offer the 6-foot-3, 205 pound gunslinger was excited to receive the offer.
"I was thrilled, I have always liked Syracuse and it was a huge deal. For a sophomore in high school, it was a dream come true to get a division one offer."
What exactly was it that the Orange coaches saw in him?
"They said that they like my overall appearance, my arm strength, and how I carried myself."
When he was at Syracuse for the football camp he enjoyed the whole visit, but there were a few items that stuck out to him.
"I like the coaching staff a lot. The head coach and I have a great relationship, and don't even get me started with the offensive coordinator. He is a great guy! I liked the campus and the city life. Overall, I liked it."
The trip over the summer was not Boyle's first time at Syracuse.
"I went up for the spring game, and I took a tour of the football buildings. My freshman year, I took a tour of the actual college and academic buildings."
Since he has been on the Syracuse a couple times and holds an offer from them he is very high on them.
"My interest in Syracuse is very high. They are in my top three overall, and the interest keeps going up with each visit and encounter with coaches. I really like Syracuse!"
With three offers already and Syracuse sitting very high in his mind has the Connecticut product thought about making a decision?
"I plan on committing early, I have been spending a lot of time thinking about where I want to go and I still haven't chosen. Sometime during the summer hopefully."
When it comes to Boyle's on the field game there are a few items he does well and then there are some that need work.
"My strengths, I believe that my leadership ability is a strength for me. My arm strength and accuracy is up there. Something that I was blessed with is my height and weight, I have a good frame to put weight on and I plan on doing so.
"My weakness right now is seeing defenses and making the right decisions, something a quarterback always has to improve on. My speed is a weak point and I really need to focus on that this off season."
This offseason look to be a busy one for Boyle as he plans to visit school and other camps before a possible summer decision.
